Tall case brass dial clock, 1772.

Mahogany tall-case clock. The hood has a molded arch pediment with a shaped broken-scroll top, three brass ball-and-spire finials, with the central finials on a shaped plinth, and the flanking finials on fluted plinths. At the front corners there are stop-fluted columns with brass stop-fluting, capitals and bases. The door is glazed with an astragal top. Waist with cove molding at the top, fluted quarter columns at the front corners, and a reverse-blocked case door with a carved shell at the top. Base with cove and ovolo molding at the top, a shaped skirt and bracket feet. Engraved dial with roman hour numerals and arabic minute numerals, engraved c-scrolls in the spandrels, a moon phase dial in the lunette, and the inscription "Warrantd for Mr James Means 1772" above the moon phase dial. Inside the chapter ring there is an engraved seconds dial, surrounding the inscription "No 131." There is a calendar aperture surrounded by engraved c-scrolls and foliate decoration. The dial bears the inscription "Benjan Willard Roxbury Fecit." Eight day movement.
